Startup | The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society:

Written by Lauren M. Rielly

The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society is Australia’s first online women’s wine club.

It’s like a big ol’ fashioned book club – but with WINE.

Launched in May 2012, The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society is a fun, feminine and slightly tongue-in-cheek look at the world of wine.

While the tone is playful, the goal is serious: “to communicate the joys and nuances of wine to an increasingly interested group of female wine consumers”.

The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society provides virtual tastings and wine reviews, information, events, and wine education specifically for women. It is revolutionising the way wine is communicated to women and brings the world of wine back to the ladies.

Determined to become the #1 online resource for women interested in wine The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society is working hard on creating more content for the site and more real life events for women. They are also creating an annual awards program to recognise those wine labels that are “doing it right” when it comes to appealing to women wine drinkers, as well as creating a women’s choice award, targeted wine guides and wine region travel guides.

Reviews are written by women – for women – with womens’ tastes in mind. “We’ve banished the testosterone fuelled, pomp-ass, yawn-inducing wine spiels, and instead we’re having fun bringing you the wine information you really want about wines that are really worth drinking – and that are light on your purse. (So you can spend more on shoes, non?)”.

Joining The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society simply makes it easy to be part of everything online – finding other members, creating groups, meet-ups and sharing the wine club experience.

The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society is a Startup to Watch.
